FESTIVAL 2008 - FEEDBACK

Another great Festival. Weather was dreadful, but the music hot and varied, as ever. Geordie Jack never fails to steal the show. Moe Bandy was worth all the hard work and Danni Leigh was great. Very happy with our accomodation. First time at the Holburn, but will be back. Jilly, and all her staff, couldn't do enough for us.

Thanks again,

Stewart Fenwick, Presenter "Celtic Music Radio"
Country Music & Dance In Scotland magazine

I would like to say a very big THANK YOU to you for making my friend Anne and myself welcome and for the hospitality and kindness given to us on our first ever festival in Caithness.

We have both been to quite a few country music festivals over the years, local and afar....but not as far as this one, and we both had the time of our lives. I can honestly say, hand on heart.....this was the best ever!!

The organization and planning etc, was out of this world, and the timing etc was spot on. It must have taken ages to get all the planning and bands together for this event, and everything ran like clockwork, with no time wasting waiting for bands to set up before they played a note.

I would also like to thank you for letting us have seats where we could both enjoy each act and be able to see clearly, plus another big thanks for you having a word to the acts, so that I could get my picture taken with the stars, and not get jostled etc at the end of the show. That would have been the only scary bit for me, as I have had knee surgery and wasn't quite as steady on my feet as I would like to have been.

I could not find any fault whatsoever from the time we got to the festival, until the time we had to leave to come home. The only word I can say about the whole event is BRILLIANT!!

The long journey for us both was worth it....a 45 minute train journey to the main station at the start, 9 hours by coach, plus 1 hour flight, then the 30 minutes cab ride to get to the hotel. We had a 3 hour delay leaving Wick airport, as the weather was so bad. We checked out of the hotel at 11.30am on Monday morning, and got home at 9.30am Tuesday morning..........shattered but very happy to have been there to see it all.

I have taken tons of photo's, and once I have them all sorted out on my pc, I will be showing them to everybody at my local country music club, and hope to get a few others to enjoy the trip as much as we have.

It will be worth it to you to place an advert in the Southern Country magazine for next year's event, as quite a few people from this neck of the woods do, and have travelled to Scotland for other country music events and festivals. It is worth a try, as I only knew about this event by reading the BCMA leaflet that a friend gave me at my club. I would have not known about it, if it wasn't for a friend giving me the leaflet. If next year is as good as this year's...then count us in, as it was the BEST EVER!!

Many thanks once again for the kindness and help, and I have got your web site saved, so I can keep tabs on who's going to be there next year.

Keep on keeping it Country!!!!

Ruth

Just a note to say a big thank you for the lovely presentation you made to me last weekend on behalf of the NNCMC, and also for the lovely flowers presented to Joan.

Once again thank you for having me at the Festival I always enjoy the weekend, tiring but so enjoyable. We had a long drive home too, due to the weather but it cleared up around Pitlochry.

Sorry I won't be with you all next year (that is if the Australian Government will have me) but I will be thinking about you all next Easter (in the words of a recent country hit, probably on "Some Beach, Somewhere".

Looking forward to seeing you all on 27th June at the club.

Sincerely,

Gerry (Ford)

Thank you so much for having us. We had a wonderful time. Tell Rosemary that I enjoyed meeting her. Everything went great and Scotland was more beautiful as I had ever imagined it would be.

Thanks again.

Your Friend,

Ronnie Jr. (McDowell)

Thanks for your kind comments. All the boys (and Nicola) enjoyed the festival, it was well attended and organised once again and the atmosphere was really good. I am sure we will have Nicola out with us again from time to time, but she is embarking on a career as a police woman down in Edinburgh, so how often it will be I am not sure?

Many thanks,

Kevin (The Jacks)

I would like to say how much we enjoyed the festival in Halkirk great music well organised and friendly. Well done for booking Moe Bandy thoroughly enjoyed his music. Hope to see you next year

Best Wishes

Alex Billy & Margaret

Once again you and your Committee have come out on top, thank you for another excellent Festival this year. I am writing on behalf of the Elgin C.M. Club members who attended this year, the "high light" of our weekend was without a doubt Moe Bandy, he and his band were excellent, a close second was Danni Leigh, all in all we could not fault anyone. Having our own table for the weekend was also a bonus, we now look forward to next year and wonder who will be top of the bill.

Many thanks to you and your hard working committee once again.

Regards,

Billy & Maureen
